Specifications include, but are not limited to: 103.1 To provide a safe, high quality water supply to customers at the least possible expense. 103.2 To establish and maintain service standards for water quality, quantity, reliability, and availability. 103.3 To promote an image to the public which demonstrates ability and eagerness to provide service. 103.4 To provide a safe working environment for employees, which promotes job satisfaction and stimulates performance. 103.5 To maintain and acquire utility property to remain in compliance with mandatory and proposed regulatory requirements. 103.6 To generate sufficient revenue to repay long-term debt and to meet operating and capital expenditures to satisfy the above stated purposes. 103.7 To make suitable portions of Des Moines Water Works’ grounds available for public use and enjoyment to the extent consistent with the above-stated purposes. 103.8 To assist, support, and provide services to other water utilities to assist them in providing safe, high quality water supplies to their customers and to communities.
