Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is soliciting bids for a 5-year contract to provide UDOT with accessible pedestrian signal (APS) assemblies (audible pedestrian buttons) that are compliant with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Public Rights-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG.) All equipment must also comply with current ITE and NEMA standards for operation and functionality. UDOT is requesting APS systems that are centrally controlled from the traffic signal cabinet and connected to the UDOT communications network. In addition, UDOT is seeking a smartphone app that is available for the use of pedestrians to supplement their crossing needs.
