Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Ames operates gas-fired generation to serve load and co-fire Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF). The City of Ames typically burns between 8,000 to 12,000 dTh per day as a “Must Run” generator, depending on which generator is running or the amount of contracted gas supply. However, this daily burn rate can increase or decrease depending on several variables. The City of Ames is seeking a party who can manage the variability of daily gas use, balance, and monetize the base load use of 12,000 dTh of NNG capacity and provide the extra capacity on those occasions when the City of Ames’ own capacity is not enough to satisfy its electric generation. The City of Ames has retained a natural gas consultant to assist with the natural gas needs.
