Specifications include, but are not limited to: furnish and install a 14” insertion water valve (AVT EZ Valve, or equivalent) on a pressurized water line located at the Independence Water Treatment Plant. The awardee should offer a valve system able to be installed without the need for a shutdown to the water line in question (known as live tapping, wet tapping. or hot tapping). The commercial name of the product used should be included in the proposal response. Insertion Valve: Provide insertion valve assembly exceeding the performance requirements of AWWA C509 and C515; 304 SS valve body and hardware with resilient rubber sealing gate, creating pressure tight seal to pipe and gate. Installable without shutting down waterline. 250 psi minimum pressure rating; 2” square operating nut; counterclockwise (left) opening direction. Contractor shall verify “true” pipe outer diameter. Cutting millings and other contaminants shall be evacuated outside the pipeline. Valve assembly shall be NSF 61 product certified and conform to NSF 372, Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act (2014), as applicable.
