Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Leads and manages business recruitment projects from start to finish in a timely and professional manner. • Communicates effectively with local economic development communities regarding real estate searches, RFI requests and project updates. • Works with local Kansas economic development organizations to ensure the appropriate local information is being submitted to meet the project requirements. • Becomes proficient in state incentive programs. o Work in partnership with program managers. o Develop a basic understanding of required support documentation and application completion. o Adhere to the application process and subsequent follow-up. • Documents project activity and follow-up in the Salesforce system. • Serves as an advocate for Kansas to encourage clients to visit communities and make on-site inspections of properties and resources. • Is familiar with community assets throughout the state. • Represents the agency at events, tradeshows, conferences, and other activities. • Makes personal calls to site location consultants and companies within an assigned geographic territory with the purpose of developing relationships with these entities that will result in Kansas being considered for site location projects. • Works in partnership with our marketing team to plan events within their assigned coverage area. • Can balance working independently while embracing a team environment within the Commerce business development division.
