Specifications include, but are not limited to: KDOT - Special Provisions for All Season Pre-coated Patching Mixture for Cold Weather Pothole Maintenance ; 1. This Invitation for bid is intended to provide for the establishment of a contract to furnish All Season Pre-coated Patching Mix for Cold Weather Pothole Maintenance for the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). 2. Open-Ended Contract: This request is for an open-ended contract between a vendor and the State to furnish an undetermined quantity of a good or service in a given period of time. An estimated quantity based on past history or other means may be used as a guide. 3. Period of Contract: Multi-Year Contract with vender refresh. 4. Contract Termination: The contract may be terminated under the following conditions: A. By the Procurement Officer, at any time, upon 30 days written notice. B. By the Office of Procurement & Contracts, if the contractor does not satisfactorily provide material as indicated in the specifications herein. The agency must submit to the Office of Procurement & Contracts adequate documentation of unsatisfactory performance, which shall include copies of correspondence to the contractor before a notice of termination will be issued. The notice of termination will be in written form to the contractor with a copy to the agency, and be effective seven days after the date of the notice. 5. The following requirements shall apply to the All Season Pre-Coated Patching Mix for Cold Weather Pothole Maintenance. REQUIREMENTS: A. The material will be used for permanent repairs of wet or dry potholes in bituminous or concrete surfaces. B. The material shall be suitable for use directly from a stockpile and workable in cold weather. C. The specification governs for crushed stone asphaltic concrete intended primarily as a cool to cold weather stockpile patching mix for maintenance. The mixture must remain workable in the stockpile for 6 months from the day of delivery and have good adhesion to wet surfaces. The length of satisfactory stockpiling and the lowest temperature at which it can be used will vary according to the type and grade of asphaltic binder specified.
