Specifications include, but are not limited to: CTrides is the statewide commuter services program of the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT). Since 2011, AECOM has operated this program to help reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in the State of Connecticut. CTrides encourages commuters and other travelers to reduce their emissions by using green travel modes such as bus, rail, carpools, vanpools, biking, walking, and telecommuting. To promote green modes, CTrides provides information and individualized support through a variety of programs, marketing, outreach and information services. AECOM operates the CTrides customer service call center on a 24-hour, 7-day a week. The Call Center handles customer service inquiries on the use of green travel modes as well as providing information on the use of Connecticut’s commuter rail system, CTrail Hartford Line (www.hartfordline.com) and CTrail Shore Line East (www.shorelineeast.com). AECOM employees staff the Call Center week days 6 am to 7 pm and weekends 7 am to 6 pm. During this time, the customer service team at CTrides oversees the alert system for the CTrail Hartford Line and CTrail Shore Line East train services. Rail representatives inform us of any disruptions to service through email and phone calls. We then promptly notify subscribers and the public of delays, cancellations, closures, or bus substitutions through Twitter, email, text messages, and website updates.
