Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of New Haven seeks to expand its capacity for stump grinding and tree removal and is requesting pricing for the removal of stumps and trees throughout New Haven to facilitate tree replacement. This is a request for competitive bids from qualified contractors with proven industry experience, to provide labor, materials, tools, equipment and all else necessary, to perform the work as specified in the following sections: • Tree and Stump Removal • Stump Removal; A. All equipment to be used and all work to be performed must be in full compliance with the most current revision of American National Standards Institute Z133 Safety Requirements for Arboricultural Operations. These standards are made part of this contract by this reference. B. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for pedestrian and vehicular safety and control within the work site and shall provide the necessary warning devices, barricades, and ground personnel needed to give safety, protection, and warning to persons and vehicular traffic within the area. C. Blocking of public streets shall not be permitted unless prior arrangements have been made with the City of New Haven and is coordinated with appropriate departments. Traffic control and any additional costs incurred on the contractor’s behalf is the responsibility of the Contractor unless arrangements are made with the Tree System Coordinator/Tree Warden.
