Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scope of work includes roadway improvements to State Street from the 12th Street intersection to and including the 17th Street intersection. At 12th Street, it is planned for the work to be end at the railroad crossing, but the consultant will need to investigate and provide a design that safely transitions to the existing pedestrian and roadway crossings. Connections to the side streets are also necessary. Grading and drainage may influence the extent of the needed transitions. Side street work extends further along 14th Street for approximately 150-200 feet to restore the roadway and sidewalks, channelization, and landscaping. Work throughout the project includes but is not necessarily limited to ADA compliant ramps at all side streets, complete pavement rehabilitation and/or replacement, stormwater management (water quality/detention), fire hydrant replacement, street tree planting and landscaping, utility coordination and relocations, Cherriots coordination for bus stop locations, and modifications to existing traffic signals to accommodate the revised channelization. The 17th Street intersection will require a new signal. A new mid-block crossing with pedestrian crossing signal will be constructed west of 15th Street. Although it is assumed no work will be required within the railroad ROW, coordination with the railroad will be necessary because of the proximity of improvements and the need for railroad flagging that may be required for survey and construction.
