Specifications include, but are not limited to: The town of Fairfield is seeking a contractor to provide all necessary labor, supplies, material, equipment, and services for the complete installation of a new dry sprinkler system at the Fairfield Town Garage; • It is emphasized that this project be done on a turnkey basis, with a completed and tested system as the final product. • Construction meetings with be held weekly with the Town’s representative. • Contractor shall coordinate all necessary inspections and testing with the Fire department and shall receive final sign-offs from all applicable departments upon completion of the work. • Provide all certifications, testing, and warranties as per the manufacturer’s recommendations for all equipment and material provided and installed. • The contractor shall further warranty all work for a one-year period following project acceptance. • Provide one complete set of as-built drawings to accurately indicate conditions after project completion. • All material is to be UL listed for fire protection use. • All exposed piping 1” and smaller to be SCH 40 black steel with grooved fittings. • All exposed piping 1 1/4 “and larger to be schedule 10 black steel with grooved fittings. • Existing riser will be modified to allow for a new dry riser installation (see detail) • All hangers to be installed and conform to NFPA standards. (see hanger details) • Existing incoming underground fire main to remain and be reused. • Sidewall sprinkler heads will be installed under each garage door (see detail) • Dry pendent heads will be installed in areas with sheetrock ceilings (see installation details) • Dry system will include a provision to provide protection for the paint booth located in the existing garage (see pipe layout)
