Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks is accepting bids for one Agricultural Production Permit on Kaw Wildlife Area. The Wildlife Area is divided into two separate Agricultural Permit Areas. The Wildlife Area is located south of 296th Road between 101st road and 111th road along the Arkansas River. Agricultural Permit Area includes approximately 171 acres of cropland located in two different tracts. Proposed crop plans for crop year 2020 include 29 acres of corn (17%), 129 acres of soybeans (75%) and 13 acres of sunflowers (7%). Annual crop acreage will typically be comprised of three basic crop types (soybeans, wheat and corn) with each crop type contributing approximately 20% to 45% of the total crop acreage. Crop types such as sunflowers or cover crop mixes may also be included in annual crop planting plans as special wildlife food plots and may contribute approximately 5% to 15% of total crop acreage.
