Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Minot, North Dakota is requesting sealed bids for structures, to include homes, for sale that were purchased by the city within the footprint of the flood control project. Structures will be sold as-is with no guarantee or warranty to their condition or soundness. Those designated with “**” have lead-based paint or asbestos hazard information available. Land is not included as part of this auction. Structures must be removed and relocated outside the 2011 flood inundation area at winning bidder’s expense. Winning bidder must provide destination address, obtain any necessary moving permits and coordinate removal plan through City of Minot property maintenance within thirty (30) days of bid opening. Debris and/or damage created by structure removal shall be the winning bidder’s responsibility. For safety concerns, structures not removed by October 1, 2023, must remain in-place until after May 1, 2024, and then have 60 days to remove. Exceptions require City approval. Any desired winterizing must be performed by winning bidder at their own expense. The City reserves the right to demolish structures left in place beyond the deadline. Demolition of basement/slab is City responsibility. All structures moved must follow jurisdictional ordinances and zoning codes in place at the permanent location of the structure. Structures remaining in the City of Minot’s jurisdictional boundaries require a certificate of occupancy be issued within six (6) months of bid. The following is a list of structures available to the highest bidder. Detached garages and sheds are considered separate items that require an independent bid from the home structure. Home and commercial-type structures have a minimum bid based on availability and assessed tax value. Sheds and garages have no minimum bid price.
