Specifications include, but are not limited to: As part of an ongoing modernization effort, the Rochester Public Transit department (RPT) is seeking a new CAD/AVL system to support its public transit service and network. Our objective is to align the new technology to the City of Rochester’s IT technology standards, ensure there is compliance with the City’s IT Governance initiatives and provide a foundation for a future state for the department. RPT is a small urban transit system that is scheduled to undergo substantial growth over the next three years. Replacing our CAD/AVL, AVA, APC, and PIDS systems is part of a larger effort to modernize our transit system and improve rider experience. The proposer shall design, furnish, install, test, and make operational the CAD/AVL System with support for AVA and APCs for the RPT. Our future vision is to have public facing information display units and would like the proposed technology to support this future state. The proposer shall also provide supporting documentation, training, warranty and technical support as specified herein. The proposer shall be responsible for all activities, tasks, equipment, system components, and services required to provide the RPT with a turnkey CAD/AVL System that is fully functional in accordance with the RFP requirements. The complete and integrated CAD/AVL System shall include the following, but not be limited to: • Supporting Automatic Passenger Counters • Support Passenger Information Display System (PIDS) – Future Need • Provide Computer-Aided Dispatch • Provide Automatic Vehicle Location • Provide Automatic Vehicle Announcement System • Integrate with On-board Variable Message Signs • Provide a Covert Emergency Alarm (CEA) • Single point vehicle log-in • Time of Arrival/Departure Information • Route & Schedule Adherence • Smart phone application • Web based customer self-service application • GTFS and GTFS-RT feed and self-service management • Tablets and or Ruggedized Laptops • Integration with Exterior Vehicle Destination Signs/Head Signs • Integration with Fare Collection System • Integration with Interactive Voice Response for time of arrival and departure information • Integration with Cellular Mobile Data Routers – Optional/ Future Need • Integration with Radio System • Integration with bulk data transfer via W-LAN (802.11) currently installed at RPT.
