Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town of Manchester is seeking solicitations for the sale of scrap water meters. The Town of Manchester has approximately 8,000 lbs. scrap water meters for sale. Mostly consisting of mixed brass, clean brass fittings and cast iron. The Town will accept bids for the sale and removal of the scrap mixed material “as is, where is”. The scrap is located at the Globe Hollow Water Treatment Plant at 125 Spring Street, Manchester, CT. Bidder must supply all labor, materials and equipment to remove the scrap material from the storage site. The scrap material is currently stored in 12 55-gallon metal drums, on pallets. The drums have that have an estimated weight of 50 lbs. each. The material must be weighed on the State certified truck scale located at the Town of Manchester Landfill, 325 Olcott Street, Manchester. Payments will be made to the Town of Manchester based upon the weight of the meters minus the tare weight for barrels and pallets.
