Specifications include, but are not limited to: Construction and mass timber fabrication services for development of a single-family MPP House prototype and 3-story façade retrofit mockup. 1.1.1. 3-story “existing condition” mockup (approximately 30’ tall, 25’ wide x 8’ deep) of a light-wood-frame multifamily housing façade that includes windows, cladding and trim. Mockup must be constructed inside the Emmerson Advanced Wood Products Lab at Oregon State University (“OSU”) against the testing reaction wall. Existing condition will be used by UO and OSU’s joint design and engineering team to digitally scan and produce construction documents for fabrication of a mass plywood panelized retrofit system by the contractor. 1.1.2. Contractor will pre-fabricate a mass plywood panelized façade retrofit system offsite and return to Emmerson Lab to install the panelized system over the “existing condition,” which will then be used for documentation of costs by contractor and structural testing by engineering team. 1.1.3. Based on completed design research and documentation from University team, Contractor must produce a fully assembled free-standing prototype of a two-story, 687 SF, two-bedroom mass plywood panelized house that includes off-site prefabrication of wall, floor, roof and interior components and final assembly at an outdoor test site at TallWood Design Institute’s A.A. “Red” Emmerson Advanced Wood Products Lab at OSU. The construction process will test construction means and methods, including evaluation of shipping efficiency and field assembly, and document costing of materials and labor.
