Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City intends to establish a network of low stress biking and walking facilities (level of traffic stress 1 or 2). The Crosstown Bikeways Project will further develop the Low Stress Network (LSN) as identified in Figure 5-1 of the 2020 Transportation System Plan (TSP), by constructing and providing connections to existing or planned LSN infrastructure that are continuous, easy to navigate and as separated from traffic as feasible. The Project is expected to build off of the general alignments of Key Routes 1 and 2 identified in Figure 5-3b of the TSP, with the goal of constructing routes that provide crosstown travel in the North-South (NS) and East-West (EW) directions by 2025. Additionally, the Project will construct a shared use path adjacent to 9th Street between the existing marked crossings of Reed Market and Wilson Avenue, identified as Key Route Project R1-A in Table 5-3b of the TSP.
