Specifications include, but are not limited to: Project I: Anoxic Basin # 4 Repairs The Anoxic Basin # 4 repairs design has been completed. Because this basin cannot be taken offline currently, the extent of the damage and the needed repairs cannot yet be defined. This project will be combined with the Headworks upgrades and repairs. The Anoxic Basin # 4 repairs will consist of the following: • Replacement of most of the existing concrete decking over the anoxic basin with a new cast in place concrete deck • Repair of the walls, beams and columns as needed • Rerouting and relocations of electrical and controls wiring and conduit that is currently located within the decking of the anoxic basin • Provide temporary effluent piping from the two existing combination headworks system to discharge into Anoxic Basin # 3 • Repair or replacement of basin fill pumps Project II: Headworks Upgrades and Repairs The original Headworks equipment from Phase 1 are at the end of their useful life and no longer functional. New Headworks equipment will be installed in the East Headworks Building. The West Headworks Building can then be used for storage as there is minimal storage areas provided at the plant. The design for this project is almost complete. Construction for this project will take place the same time as the repairs for Anoxic Basin #4 as there is some piping that will need to be installed within Anoxic Basin # 4. The upgrades and repairs project consists of the following: • Demolition and disposal of the existing headworks equipment including the screens and grit system and all associated piping, electrical and miscellaneous items related to those systems • Installation of two new Or-Tec Blue Whale combination headworks systems that includes influent screening and grit removal system • Installation of new piping to and from the two new headworks systems • Installation of piping and valves to include a header that collects all four screen effluent and allows for discharge into either Anoxic Basin # 3 or Anoxic Basin # 4 individually, or both basins simultaneously Project III: Additional Tertiary Filter Installation A new tertiary filter will be installed to provide the plant the required redundancy. The new filter will be installed south of the existing filters across the access road as there is no room for another filter within the filter gallery location. The new filter will be identical to the existing Aqua Aerobic cloth disk filter. The design for this project is almost complete and construction/installation can be completed at any time. Project IV: Repair of Anoxic Basin #3 and Influent Pump Station The Anoxic Basin #3 and Influent Pump Station (IPS) are in need of structural repairs. The structural damage is not as extensive as Anoxic Basin #4 and is anticipated to only require surface repairs on walls, decks, beams, and columns. One of the base elbows in the IPS needs to be replaced. The existing base elbow is no longer made and the replacement unit will require some piping modifications. All of the IPS pump guide rails and supports will need to be inspected and replaced as needed. Bypass pumping may be required for some of this work, a detailed MOPO will need to be developed and provided. Design has not been initiated on this project yet and construction can’t occur until after Anoxic Basin #4 repairs have been completed. Project V: Replacement of Odor Control Units The two existing odor control systems do not provide proper removal of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gases in and around the facility work properly. Both systems should be replaced with (1) Daniel Company 14’ Dual Bed Carbon Absorber unit rated at 18,000 cfm and (1) 12.5’ Daniel Company Dual Bed Carbon Absorber unit rated at 14,000 cfm including all necessary duct and electrical work to complete the installation. The construction for this can be completed at any time. Project VI: Blower Replacements The plant currently has (6) blowers for SBR 3 thru 6 and (4) blowers for the digesters. These blowers are nearing the end of their useful life. All (10) blowers will be replaced with the Aerzens hybrid rotary lobe blowers. All blowers will be the same model and size. The (6) existing SBR blowers currently have variable frequency drives (VFDs) that will either be reused or replaced for the new blowers. The (4) digester blowers are direct drive and will require the installation of Yaskawa VFDs to match the existing. Design has not been initiated on this project yet. Construction can occur any time after Anoxic Basin #4 has been repaired. Project VII: Headworks Combination Units Replacement The two existing headworks combination systems are nearing the end of their useful life. The recommendation is to provide two new Or-Tec Blue Whale units identical to the units described above in Project II to replace the two existing units. The screen influent will need to be rerouted to accommodate the larger size of the headworks units. The design for this has not been initiated yet. The construction can be completed any time after Anoxic Basin #4 repairs are completed. Project VIII: Replacement of Current Generator There are currently three generators units that provide emergency backup power generation for the facility that are nearing the end of the useful life and will be in need of replacement. The new generators will be Cummins units and will need to be integrated into the overall plant control system. Replacement sizes will be determined after an electrical load analysis has been completed and a report provide by the engineering firm with the appropriate Kw generator sizes.
