All correspondence must be made through the Vendor Portal. Specifications include, but are not limited to: The water-based traffic paint and glass beads shall meet the most current specifications of the Iowa, Wisconsin or Minnesota Department of Transportation. The work shall consist of repainting existing lines utilizing a truck mounted paint applicator designed for this type of work. Layout of these lines is not part of the project. Existing lines shall include those spotted by others prior to the start of the project. One line of spots may represent two lines of painting, parallel and four inches apart. The contractor shall paint only the lines listed on the paint list (to be given to the awarded contractor). The lines shall be four inches wide and sixteen mils wet thickness. Six pounds of beads shall be applied per gallon of paint and shall be incidental to the contract. Skip lines shall have ten lineal feet of paint followed by a thirty-foot gap with no paint. The paint shall be applied to clean, dry pavement. The contractor shall not paint pavement that has a significant amount of debris on the surface. Traffic control and prevention of tracking shall be the responsibility of the contractor and shall be incidental to the contract. The contractor shall be responsible for processing and paying claims for paint on vehicles or property. The contractor shall place cones on painted lines at high-volume driveways to prevent tracking. The wet paint in these areas shall be protected until dry. The contractor shall grind off tracked paint and repaint as directed by the City and at no expense to the City. Paint applied incorrectly shall be removed (and replaced as necessary) by the contractor at no expense to the City. The City may stop work or terminate the contract if the contractor fails to comply with these specifications. If the contract is terminated, the contractor shall be paid for only the acceptable work accomplished at the time of termination.
