Shaded Fuel Break Unit 4 (6.5 Acres); 1.In the shaded fuel break, larger diameter and taller oak will be left in patches creating a mosaic like pattern. Understory brush within the larger diameter leave tress will be thinned and piled. Cut brush stumps are not to exceed 4” in height and only flush cut, no points. Fuel Break Unit 5 (12.9 Acres); In the fuel break, all live oak, maple, juniper, and tall brush (chokecherry, serviceberry) will be cut flush (no pointed cuts) to the ground not to exceed 4” in height and piled into burn piles. The width of the fuel break will be ~130 feet wide and will is identified in the Avenza map app, as well as marked in pink flagging. All conifer under 20 feet in height will be felled, bucked and piled into burn piles. All other live conifer will be leave trees and limbed up 8 feet in height. All dead standing conifer will be felled bucked and piled into burn piles. Dead standing >20” DBH should be limbed up 8’ but can remain standing.
