Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1 The City of Lincoln’s East Water Treatment Plant is classified by the State of Nebraska as a direct filtration facility and is required to use filter aid polymer to meet requirements as defined by the current Surface Water Treatment Rule. 1.2 The following products meet the City of Lincoln Water Treatment Plant criteria for filter aid polymer requirements and are the only products for which bids will be accepted. 1.2.1 Trade Name: AQUAHAWK 6527 ORGANIC COAGULANT Description: Positively charge medium molecular weight polymerized organic coagulant Density: 8.7 pounds per gallon Specific Gravity: 1.04 pH: 6 Viscosity: (cps) 400 Approval: NSF approved for drinking water use 1.2.2 An equivalent product that can be demonstrated by the supplier to perform as well or better than the currently used product. See attached testing requirements. 1.3 The vendor shall strictly follow all Lincoln Water System security protocols concerning chemical shipments. These will include but are not limited to: 1.3.1 24 hours prior to delivery, drivers’ name, and delivery truck number must be transmitted to the Treatment Plant via fax or e-mail. 1.3.2 An intact security or tamper proof seal must be on each and every drum of product shipped to the Treatment Plant. 1.3.3 Note the acceptable facility delivery times in Section 3.4. 1.4 Material Safety Data Sheets shall be provided with each delivery of the product. 1.5 Provide quality control information on each shipment, Certificate of Analysis (C of A). Include percent purity and concentration of the polymer product, lot number and date of manufacture.
