Specifications include, but are not limited to: It is the intent of this specification to describe the minimum acceptable requirements for Vendor/s for supplying and hauling gravel surface course material for Lancaster County to be hauled in designated amounts to various stockpiles during a specified timeline upon execution of the purchase order estimated to be on August 22nd, 2023, to November 1st, 2023. Vendor shall bid the per ton price to supply and haul gravel surface course material from any location where gravel surface course material meeting County specifications can be produced to the designated County stockpile. 1.4.1 The County will issue a Purchase Order (PO) for the amount of gravel surface course material to be supplied and hauled to each stockpile according to the award issued to that Vendor. 1.4.2 The County reserves the right to adjust the amount of gravel surface course material supplied and hauled based on the prices received in the bid response in an amount of +/- 20%. 1.4.2.1 The bid price will not change if the quantity ordered remains in the +/- 20% range. 2.1 All gravel surface course aggregates furnished by the Vendor will be quality tested for abrasion, soundness and gradation according to Section 4 (Material Specifications) of this document. 2.1.1 The results of these tests will be forwarded to the County prior to payment for the material. 2.1.2 Testing work will be done at no charge to the County. 2.1.3 Any gravel surface course material which fails to meet the graduation requirements specified in the Table at Section 4.2 may be rejected and subject to non-payment by the County or returned to the Vendor at the Vendor’s expense. 2.2 All gravel surface course aggregates furnished for this project will be loaded and delivered to the stockpile sites with a moisture control content of 4.5% or less unless precipitation is encountered during the transport. 2.2.1 In the event moisture samples taken at the stockpile site yields a moisture content in excess of 4.5%, a deduct in tonnage equal to the weight of the moisture in the delivery for the amount of material on the truck which was sampled will be assessed. 2.2.2 The Vendor will be directed to discontinue the work on the project until such time that the moisture content has been corrected.
