Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contract is for installing antennas and ice shields on a new Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) tower located at the Glass Butte communications site. There is not an anticipated volume of future purchases. The services will include the installation of six LMR antennas, one amplifier, five microwave antennas, five ice shields, sweep tests of the LMR antennas, and the routing of all transmission lines into the shelter through the entry ports. The contractor is under contract with BPA to install like equipment on the their tower and their shelter and is familiar with the unique environmental monitoring and mitigation requirements surrounding the site set forth by the Bureau of Land Management and Regional Tribes. Market research shows there are many contractors that are in the business of providing services for antenna installations on communication towers. Our section is familiar with most of these contractors within the State of Oregon, and that number grows as you search nationwide. The contractor will be on site to provide the same services to BPA. Redeployment for our needs will not be required from the contractor. The contractor will also already possess monitoring personnel that is familiar with the unique environmental monitoring requirements and regulations regarding this project identified in the Mitigation Plan. It provides efficiency in that they will already be hired and trained to assure compliance with the unique requirements of the Mitigation Plan. The Oregon Department of Transportation intends to enter into a Contract with Henkels & McCoy, Inc of Portland, OR. The purpose of the Contract is for installing antennas and ice shields on a new Bonneville Power Administration tower located at Glass Butte communications site. The Contractor has trained monitoring personnel familiar with the unique environmental monitoring requirements and regulations required in the mitigation plan.
