Specifications include, but are not limited to: Project scope consists of the fifth-floor renovation (~13,500 GSF) of the Multidisciplinary Science Building at The University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. The newly renovated space converts existing College of Pharmacy laboratory instructional and office space to new educational spaces for the College of Nursing and College of Health Sciences. More specifically, two new Skills Labs (each with 10 patient positions) and six Standardized Patient Exam Rooms will be created for the College of Nursing. For the College of Health Sciences, the renovation will provide a new Student Success/Welcome Center (with ancillary spaces), offices and a 100-person Classroom that can be divided into two smaller spaces. Mechanical/Plumbing/Electrical Scope: The project consists of a total gut of mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing systems on the 5th floor and installing a new VAV box with hot water reheat coils air distribution system on the fifth floor, new plumbing fixtures with 4th floor ceiling sanitary scope, all new lighting fixtures, power systems and new EDIF/Telecomm room. Additionally, the (2) existing air handling units located in the penthouse will be replaced with a new centralized return fan system. A new steam to hot water heat exchanger system will be installed in the penthouse to serve the new air handling units. A temporary air handling unit will be installed to provide temporary air conditioning for each of the air handling systems that are being replaced in a phased approach.
