Specifications include, but are not limited to: In general, the work of the ITB includes recycling of abandoned recreational vehicles (RV’s). Work may include hazardous material handling and disposal, dismantling and recycling of various components and materials, resulting in full disposal of vehicles. During the contract period, the successful contractor(s) shall be available for any RV recycling jobs required by the County. The County may establish multiple nonexclusive price agreements as a result of this solicitation. Lane County contracts with numerous local vehicle tow companies to remove illegally parked RV’s from the public right-of-way as well as other private/publicly owned areas on an as needed basis. Often the towed vehicles are not claimed and require disposal. Based on the current volume, the County intends to award contracts to multiple providers to focus primarily on vehicle recycling and disposal; Services that may be required include: Inspection/testing of hazardous materials if present Hazardous material abatement as required Removal and recycling of all batteries Removal of sewage Removal and recycling of fuels and oils Removal and recycling of freon Vehicle demolition and recycling/disposal of materials Create a tracking and reporting mechanism for all work associated with each vehicle Additional services as needed
