Specifications include, but are not limited to: The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) along with the NCIMS (National Conference on Interstate Milk Shipments) require Kansas to follow the PMO (Pasteurized Milk Ordinance) standards to ship milk interstate. Within these requirements, Kansas must collect at least 4 samples within every consecutive 6-month period from each dairy farm in Kansas. To meet that criterion for the Southwest Kansas dairy farms. • Must be a certified lab, APPROVED AND LISTED ON THE IMS LAB CERTIFICATION LIST AND certified to run all the producer tests required: Bacteria (Standard Plate Count), Somatic cell, antibiotics, and added water. • Must maintain NCIMS certification throughout the contract period. • Must be able to make arrangements to meet a courier and deliver all KDA regulatory milk samples coming from the Southwest Kansas area. • Must be able to test monthly samples on a routine basis AND be able to test producer samples for individual, specific tests as directed by KDA Dairy Program when requested for follow up testing and other enforcement needs. • Lab must be within 240 miles of Garden City, Kansas • Lab must be able to deliver samples to their lab within 24 hours of when the samples were collected. • Must be able to provide sample test results to KDA in an acceptable format and within five days of receipt of sample. • This bid is for a 5 year contract.
