Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Model: New, of 2023 or later production model meeting all current emission, efficiency, performance and safety standards and the following Minimum Specifications herein. B. GVWR: 17,000 lb. GVWR minimum; 18,000 lb. GVWR maximum. C. Cab: Conventional or cab-over model with 3 man forward facing bench seat. D. Overall Length: As required for the completed model offered. E. Cab/Axle: As required by the body manufacturer for the model offered. F. Truck Chassis Frame: The truck chassis frame shall not extend beyond the refuse body opening. G. Wheelbase: Of sufficient length for the cab/axle offered. H. Front Axle Capacity: As determined by the manufacturer for the GVWR provided. Shall include heavy-duty type shock absorbers if available from the manufacturer. I. Rear Axle Capacity: As determined by the manufacturer for the GVWR provided. Shall include heavy-duty type shock absorbers if available from the manufacturer. J. Axle Scales: An on board truck scale system with digital in-cab mounted readout, Vulcan Body Scale System Model R-216B with printer, or approved substitute system, shall be provided. Readout shall be mounted in a conspicuous location, easily viewed by driver and configured to default display of total GVW. The truck shall be delivered with the system installed and calibrated per the manufacturer’s approved methods. K. Electrical System: Gasoline gauge on tank or dashboard. Battery: Maximum CCA as offered by the manufacturer. A master power switch located in close proximity to the battery box that allows isolation of the battery and electrical system shall be provided. City to approve switch location. Batteries to be housed in a location that provides for easy access for servicing or replacement. The battery compartment shall include rubber matting or other nonconductive flooring to insulate battery from direct contact with compartment bottom. Positive (power) and negative (ground) jumper lugs with direct connection to the starter shall be provided in an accessible location. Positive lug shall be permanently labeled to indicate electrical power source and include a protective cap or plug that prevents accidental contact with ground. Battery Cover: If applicable, anti-slip solid covers over batteries for protection and step-up.
