Specifications include, but are not limited to: Salt Lake City is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified suppliers to provide parts and supplies for the City's water, storm, and sewer systems. These parts generally include, but shall not be limited to pipes, couplings, flanged adapters, tapping sleeves, pipe restrainers, tools, repair clamps, service saddles, setters, valves, and other similar parts and supplies, as well as all types of fire hydrant and meter replacement parts from different manufacturers. Agreements established as a result of this Request for Bid shall be for items generally categorized as “water works” and are not intended to replace current City agreements for general plumbing or sprinkler/irrigation supplies. The City prefers local suppliers that can quickly meet the City's every day needs and the critical emergency needs, when necessary. A. Vendor shall provide parts and supplies for City’s water, storm, and sewer systems, including (subject to modification: pipes, couplings, flanged adapters, service saddles, tapping sleeves, pipe restrainers, tools, repair clamps, setters, valves, and other similar supplies, as well as all types of hydrant and meter replacement parts) on an as needed basis. No guarantee of the actual product requirement is implied or expressed by this agreement. Product requirements shall be determined by actual need. B. Vendor shall maintain a stocked warehouse within Salt Lake County or surrounding counties due to the critical services these parts and supplies provide. In the event the parts necessary to complete repairs are not in stock, Vendor shall, at its own expense, procure parts from other sources within five (5) working days from date of order or advise City of the expected turnaround time for parts that have to be ordered in. C. Vendor’s business shall be open for business on Monday through Friday except City observed holidays. Vendor shall provide the name and telephone number of a contact person for supplies needed on an emergency basis on weekends and holidays. Vendor shall update this emergency number whenever there is a change. D. Vendor shall honor manufacturer’s warranties for all products. E. Vendor warrants that products furnished conform to the requirements specified and shall be of good merchantable quality and suitable for the purpose intended. F. City, at its own discretion, shall be able to purchase items and parts related to the municipal water works storm and sewer system parts stated above.
