Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1 The project consist of sidewalk repairs for removal & replacement of approximately 200 LF of sidewalk at Ellis Harbor, 2550 Ellis Blvd. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405. Contractor shall perform the Work as outlined in the Plans & Specifications attached to the Request for Bid. The project includes, but is not limited to the following: 2.1.1 Removal of existing sidewalk 2.1.2 Repair of any sheet piling wall tiebacks as needed 2.1.3 Installation of new sub-base materials as specified in the plan set 2.1.4 Installation of new 8’ wide sidewalk as specified in the plan set 2.1.5 Installation of new railings and gates as specified in the plan set 2.1.6 Rough grading, final grading & seeding of all disturbed areas 2.2 Contractor shall take all necessary safety precautions to protect people & property. 2.3 Contractor shall begin as soon as possible with a completion date of November 3, 2023. 2.4 The Contractor shall work with the City to give advance notice to house boat owners affected by the construction. 2.5 All construction shall meet 2010 ADA standards for accessibility as set forth by the United States Department of Justice. 2.5.1 All slopes will be verified by compliance using a 2’ digital level. 2.5.2 Any work not meeting specifications shall be removed & re-installed until completed per specifications at the Contractor’s expense. 2.6 Contractor shall call Iowa One Call 48 hours in advance of any work on the site. 2.7 Damage to any existing utilities & structures on site will be the responsibility of the contractor to repair, to the satisfaction of the City, at the Contractor’s expense.
