Specifications include, but are not limited to: The following specifications applies to the purchase of 3-pt mounted, rotary snow blower attachment by the Iowa Department of Transportation, Iowa DOT. Model bid must be of current production for which parts and accessories are readily available from the successful bidder. Any manufacturer’ names, trade names, brand names, or catalog numbers used in the specification are for establishing and describing general performance and quality levels. The references are not intended to be restrictive, and bids are invited on these and comparable brands or products of any manufacturer. Responders must include alternate brand specifications for purposes of comparison to approved brands based on the same or higher levels of performance. 1. ROTARY HEAD A. Head must be of the twin impeller design with a minimum cutting width of 96-inches. B. Height of cutter box must be approximately 48-inches. C. Diameter of each impeller must be a minimum of 44-1/2-inches. D. Each of the two (2) impellers must be equipped with shear bolt hub assemblies and a replaceable system for breaking up hard packed snow and ice. E. PTO drive system – 1,000-RPM (1-3/8-inches X 21 spline) F. For use with cat. II & III, 3-pt hitches. G. Capacity of approximately 1800-TPH. 2. LOADING AND CASTING CHUTE A. Chute with the blower on the ground must be capable of loading snow from either side into a truck dump body with a minimum body side height of 86-inches. B. Chute must rotate approximately 340-degrees and be hydraulically controlled. C. Dual chutes will not be accepted. D. Tip fanning, hydraulically controlled.
