Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Iowa DOT is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for full-service creation and maintenance of General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) Data Services in order to increase the public transportation resources for Iowa's travelling public. The Iowa DOT has been under contract since 2017 for GTFS Data Services, with that contract expiring this year. The successful responder will collect needed data for GTFS conversion from all Iowa public transit agencies, convert the participating agencies data to GTFS format, and make the data feeds available for trip planning in Google Transit as well as other DOT approved publicly available repositories for developers to access. The vendor will be responsible to maintain the GTFS data, but a user-friendly self-service GTFS maintenance tool will allow participating public transit agencies to update their own transit system’s data if they choose. All participating agencies will be provided instructional resources and assistance to integrate a trip planner into their existing website. 1. Data Collection a. Contact and identify all Iowa public transit agencies that will participate in the project, their participation level, as well as all information needed for GTFS conversion, integration into Google Transit, and DOT approved publicly available repositories for developers to access. b. Provide the data to participating public transit agencies and receive approval from their designated representative. c. Follow-up contact with Iowa public transit agencies as needed and approved by the DOT project manager. d. All data collection for Iowa public transit agency stops identified, and available for integrating into ArcGIS shall be completed by May 15, 2024.
