Specifications include, but are not limited to: ITEM-1 – 11-FOOT HYDRAULICALLY REVERSIBLE, STRAIGHT MOLDBOARD SNOW PLOW WITH INTEGRAL SNOW SHIELD PUSH FRAME Push frame must be designed to hydraulically reverse the moldboard in an arc from 30-degrees left to 30-degrees right from a straight-ahead 90-degree position. Frame will be a triangular shape with a swivel plate assembly that attaches to the truck's plow hitch. The forward point of the triangle will attach to the reversing assembly by means of a pivot bushing. 1. SWIVEL PLATE ASSEMBLY A. Hitch pin mounting ears must be on 33-1/2 inch centers with each ear being 1-inch thick. B. Holes in the mounting ears must be 1-9/32 inch positioned as per the prototype. C. Mounting ears must be welded to a 7-inch MC (Ship & Car) channel weighing 22.7- pounds per foot. This channel will attach to and swivel against a 1-inch x 6-inch x 33- inch swivel plate. No exceptions. Swivel plate corners may be rounded. D. The 7-inch channel must swivel approximately 4-degrees up and down on a 1-1/4 inch x 5-inch, grade-8 bolt. The hole in the channel and swivel plate must be punched 1- 9/32 inches in diameter. Swivel action must occur mostly on the un-threaded shoulder section of the bolt. A castellated nut and cotter pin must be used to retain the bolt and allow for adjustment (welding will not be accepted). E. Washer, a 4-inch square x ½-inch thick steel washer must be welded inside the 7-inch swivel channel as reinforcement for the area around the swivel bolt. F. Swivel stops, there must be a reinforced 3-inch x 4-inch x 5/8-inch angle iron 7-inches long welded at each end of the 7-inch channel and wrap around the ends of the 1-inch swivel plate. Reinforcing must be an “L” shaped 1-inch thick section welded to the outer midsection of each angle. Each angle must be capped with a 3-inch x 4-inch by ½-inch thick minimum steel plate welded in in place to act as a stop. G. Stops must provide the plow blade's outer tips with 8-inches of travel, approximately 4- degrees of oscillation up and down. 2. REVERSING A-FRAME ASSEMBLY A. Reversing A-frame must consist of a 1-inch x 6-inch x 33-inch flat steel bar “swivel plate” with two 4-inch MC (ship & car) channels welded to it that extend forward and angle inward to a point for two 1-inch x 4-inch x 8-inch mounting plates. B. Mounting plates must have a 1-9/32 inch holes centered and punched. C. There must be a reversing stop plate welded to the swivel plate and the 4-inch channels that sandwiches the reversing circle flange. D. Stop plate must be a 3/4-inch thick by approximately 24-inches wide and extend forward over the reverse circle's horizontal member to within a 1/4-inch of the reverse circle's vertical member. Stop plate must be spaced 7/8-inch above the channels and welded to them with 7/8-inch x 3-inch key stock spacers. 3. CIRCLE REVERSING FRAME AND PUSH BEAM ASSEMBLY Circle reversing frame must be a semicircle with two stiffeners to help reinforce it. Semicircle will attach to a 4-inch square tube or “push beam” that will have attachment points for the reversing A-frame pivot and moldboard mounting pivot ears. A. Semicircle must be made from 4-inch x 4-inch x ¾-inch angle iron with two like angle iron stiffeners. Semicircle and stiffeners must be welded to the top side of a 7-foot long 1/2-inch wall x 4-inch square steel tube or “push beam”. Tube must be one continuous piece (2-piece tube weldment is unacceptable). B. There must be two triangular gussets 3/4-inch x 4-inch x 4-inch, welded to the underside of the semicircle. Gussets must be attached to the vertical side of the 4-inch square tubing to reinforce the semicircle attachment. C. Semicircle must have welded stops appropriate for continuous plowing set at 30- degree plow positions, left and right. D. Both 30-degree plowing positions and the straight ahead plowing position must be punched for use of a 1-inch solid locking pin in case of hydraulic failure. Plows must be shipped and delivered pinned in the straight-ahead position. A pin storage bracket must be provided to store pin when not in use. E. Push frame pivot bushing, a minimum 1/4-inch wall, 1-1/4 inch ID x 4-1/8 inch long steel bushing must be welded to or into the 4-inch square tube. The inside diameter must be reamed to 1.265-inches and have a spiral groove machined into it for grease. If the bushing is to be externally mounted, minimum ¼-inch thick ears or gussets must be used as reinforcement when welding to the tube. F. Pivot point of the reversing mechanism must pivot mostly on the unthreaded shoulder of a 1-1/4 inch, grade-8 bolt. Bolt shall be retained with a castellated nut and cotter pin (not welded) and have excess threads removed. G. Bushing must be greased through an installed grease fitting. H. There must be four sets of 1-inch thick moldboard mounting ears installed along the push beam for attachment of the moldboard. Moldboard must attach and pivot at this point on 1-1/4 inch pins when tripped. Pins must have a washer on each side and be retained with a 3/16-inch cotter pin through each end. I. Each pair of mounting ears must have an inside spacing of 2-inches + 1/8-inch. Ears shall have punched 9/32-inch holes. J. An upper and lower 1/2-inch x 2-inch full width gusset must be welded between each pair of mounting ears. Each gusset must be fully welded to both the 4-inch tube and mounting ears.
