Specifications include, but are not limited to: The successful respondent will furnish all necessary roofing equipment, including but not limited to trucks, ladders, kettles, hoists, etc. The successful respondent will also be required to have access to high quality moisture meter for locating difficult roof leaks. The expense for this service is listed as a separate additional cost. 2. A task (work) order will be issued for each scope of work during the course of the contract. The successful respondent may be asked to furnish a budgetary estimate for certain tasks orders to the UTM Physical Plant. This budgetary estimate (if requested) will serve as a not to exceed limit. There is currently no limit to the total number of task orders that may be issued during a contract year. 3. The successful respondent will respond to emergency repair requests within a reasonable time once notification has been given. 4. Roof repairs will be done on any building owned by the University of Tennessee at Martin by the successful respondent on this contract. Work will include any normal roofing type repair, such as vents, fans, expansion joints, parapets, roofing curbs, and any item incidental to roofing and/or flashing. Also included will be any metal work gutters and downspouts. It is desirable that the successful respondent be certified to do EPDM and Modified Bitumen repairs for various material suppliers. Roof repair will also include the removal of existing damaged roof and installation of new roof as necessary. Payment of work will be made after the University inspects and approves the repair. 5. The contractor will purchase all materials and have the invoice for these materials sent to The University of Tennessee at Martin plus percentage of profit. 6. Maintenance crew will consist of one foreman and two experienced roofers. The cost listed in this paragraph shall be the cost per hour beginning when the contractor’s employee reports in at UTM and ends when he leaves campus. The contractor will be paid for a minimum of two hours for each call. 7. Use of a moisture meter will be charged at the specified rate per square (100 sq. ft.) of roof area. 8. All respondents must show a minimum of three (3) references before their bid will be considered. These references should include conditions whereas the respondent has worked on a variety of roof types such as asphalt shingles, built-up asphalt and pitch roofs, standing seam metal and EPDM. The successful respondent must be able to show certification from the manufacturer on EPDM roofs.
