Specifications include, but are not limited to: Douglas County School District 0001 (Omaha Public Schools) (“OPS”) invites qualified suppliers to submit bids to furnish digital pencils; The pixel-precise digital pencils for iPads (all 2018 and newer models) must be 6.42 in (163mm) in height, 0.47 in (12mm) in width, 0.31 in (8mm) in depth and weigh 0.71 oz (20g). The pencils must be capable of a 4 foot (1.2m) drop without damage. Each pencil must contain a lithium battery with up to 7.5 hours active writing time that will automatically power off after 30 minutes of idle time to preserve the battery. The on/off button will require a one (1) second press. The battery indicator will be activated by a short press on the on/off button. There will be a greenlight if battery is at greater than 10% and a red light if battery is at less than 10%. The LED will blink red when battery life falls below 5%. The pencil will be capable of charging via the iPad lightning cable with the charging port covered by a replaceable tethered cap. The tip shall be replaceable with replacements purchased separately. The tip shall have tilt sensitivity for dynamic line weight and palm rejection technology that ignores stray touches. The pencil shall consist of an aluminum tube with a silicon rubber cap and a PC+ABS tip cover. Each pencil shall have a minimum 1-year limited hardware warranty.
