Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Katahdin Higher Education Center (KHEC) is an approximately 13,500 square foot, single story building built in multiple phases in the 1980s and early 2000s. The project consists of an approximately 2,100 square foot addition to the existing childcare space on the north side of building. This additional space will include two early childhood classrooms, two bathrooms, a storage room, a laundry room, a utility room and an office. Portions of the existing building will be renovated, including the enlargement of the kitchen and two restrooms, reconfiguration of existing childcare classrooms and miscellaneous roofing, plumbing, HVAC and electrical upgrades. The project also includes exterior work such as reconfiguring the driveway and parking along the north and east sides of the building, replacing and enlarging playgrounds, and site utility improvements.
