Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Idaho Department of Administration, Division of Purchasing, hereby publishes notice of intent to approve a sole source authorization for Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to purchase Suicide Prevention Services from Zero Suicide Institute. The Zero Suicide framework is a system-wide, organizational commitment to safer suicide care in health and behavioral health care systems. The framework is based on the realization that suicidal individuals often fall through the cracks in a sometimes fragmented and distracted health care system. A systematic approach to quality improvement in these settings is both available and necessary. To continue to meet healthcare organizational needs, Education Development Center (EDC) launched the Zero Suicide Institute® in January 2016. The Zero Suicide Institute® provides consultation, technical assistance, and training to health care systems invested in improving practices that prevent suicide. A Zero Suicide project starts with an organizational leadership team who conducts a needs and readiness assessment. Following assessment, the leadership team participates in a Zero Suicide workshop or academy. Agency specific strategies and plans are developed to put into practice, the training, processes, policies, and technical elements that recognize, provide care, ensure safety, connect to resources, and track patients at risk of suicide. The scope of services to be delivered include project consultation, implementation training, community of practice, online resources, and project management for the duration of the pilot phase.
