Specifications include, but are not limited to: MaineDOT is requesting proposals from qualified Contractors who wish to operate one or more intercity routes (as funding allows and as circumstances warrant) utilizing FTA funding. No other source of funding will be provided. Routes should function as critical connections between rural and urban parts of Maine and to points beyond. Consistent with the State Management Plan (found here: https://www.maine.gov/mdot/transit/publications/), the priority is to preserve and maintain established transportation operations, facilities, and equipment. The following two routes are currently in operation and will receive priority award and funding consideration: Bangor to Caribou with stops in Penobscot and Aroostook Counties Calais to Bangor with stops in Washington and Hancock Counties
