Specifications include, but are not limited to: This completer year-long course is designed for students who have successfully completed Principles of Health Science. Areas of emphasis include athletic training, sports medicine terminology, anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, injury evaluation and prevention procedures. Students demonstrate skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and sports injury acute care. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one of the Arts/Humanities/CTE credits required for high school graduation. This course may count towards the College and Career Ready Flex Credit requirements for the Standard Diploma.
