Specifications include, but are not limited to: The intent and purpose of this Request for Proposals is to establish a mutually acceptable Agreement between the City of Davenport (City) and one or more qualified Contractors to provide on-call sewer televising, inspecting and cleaning services on an as needed basis. In addition to the City’s regular maintenance programs involving similar works, The Engineering Division has need of televising and inspection services as part of the design of capital improvement projects managed by the Division. An additional responsibility held by the Engineering Division is the approval of subdivisions and other private infrastructure to be dedicated to the City. At times, the maintenance programs utilize the equipment needed to support the design and acceptance efforts. To avoid delaying the design and acceptance efforts more than is necessary, the Engineering Division intends to call on the selected Contractor(s) to complete the necessary televising and inspection tasks should City crews not be available in a timely manner. The Engineering Division intends to televise and inspect all storm and sanitary structures and pipes during the design phase of each roadway project that is to be designed. During a typical year, the City engages in the design of about 12 or more roadway projects of varying length, with two to three city blocks of roadway length being fairly common. Some portion of these projects will be televised and inspected by City staff. 1. The Contractor is required to obtain all local, state or federal licenses and/or permits necessary to complete this work. The Contractor shall not be charged for any permits issued by the City of Davenport or from the Iowa Department of Transportation. 2. The Contractor is responsible for any damage to City owned or maintained facilities and/or equipment while engage in performing this work. 3. The Contractor shall follow all applicable OSHA regulations and perform the work in a safe manner. 4. No part of any work performed under this contract may be subcontracted out to other contractors or individuals not included and covered by the Contractor’s insurance. 5. The Contractor shall provide their own tools, personal protective equipment, ladders, scaffolding, power equipment, vehicles, etc., as needed to perform the work assigned under this contract.
