Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Creation of a Wetland Restoration Guidance Document a. Background assessment chapter b. Restoration practices chapter (with graphics/schematics) c. Regulatory considerations chapter d. Evaluating Restoration success and reporting chapter The work will start with a kick-off meeting with Wetlands Program staff and selected restoration partners to discuss the needs and goals of the project to aid in the outline development. The awardee will work with the Wetlands Program to develop a document outline with clear expectations of content and quality, with the main focus of the document on restoration practices. The final document will be a printable PDF. The Minnesota Wetland Restoration Guide1 is an example of the content intended for this guidance document, and includes a bit more than expected from this project. The Wetland Restoration Handbook for Wisconsin Landowners2 is another example, but does not contain information about all of the practices to include in this guidance. The Wetlands Program has materials and case studies to provide to aid in the creation of the background assessment and regulatory considerations chapters. Materials include the Lake Champlain Wetland Restoration Plan, models, and past approved restoration plans.
