Specifications include, but are not limited to: Division of Wildlife Resources (UDWR) in conjunction with the Dixie National Forest, – United States Forest Service (USFS) Cedar City Ranger District is in need of tree thinning, tree pruning, and slash piling activities. The objectives of thinning are to promote growth and increase resilience of leave trees to insect and disease while also decreasing the risk of stand replacing fire. The work includes treating project areas totaling approximately 422 acres. Total Acres treated will depend on funding and incoming bids as funds are limited and may not be enough to cover the entire 422 acres. Units/acres treated may be less than the 422 as bids will dictate how many units are to be treated. Bids should be submitted on a per/acre basis and total cost basis. Per acre and total bid prices will include all mobilization and operation costs. There will be no fuel surcharges or adjustments negotiated. There will be no government provided materials for this project. Bidders must provide references of prior thinning experience. The contract will be awarded based on bid price; prior performance references as provided by the bidder and will be evaluated and awarded at the sole discretion of the government. Work under this contract is located in Garfield County approximately 1 miles in all directions of Mammoth Creek Sub Division, Utah. Elevations range from 8800 to 7,800 feet within the project site. Slopes range from flat up to 45% with the majority of the project being less than 20%. The work location is shown on the attached Project and Reference Maps.
