Specifications include, but are not limited to: Nutrition information, pack size and servings/case to be provided for each item. Failure to supply this information may be cause for rejection. All milk shall be pasteurized, from a Grade A milk; meet the standards of the United States Public Health Code; and meet or exceed the current specifications of the State of New Mexico. Pricing for fluid milk products can escalate or de-escalate in accord with changes. Escalation or de escalation will be authorized based upon price changes of raw milk. Any changes in prices must be accompanied by the appropriate supporting documentation from the Federal Marketing Order (FMO) price change announcement. Supplier must submit conversion calculations showing the manner in which change was calculated. The Bernalillo Public Schools Board of Education encourages the participation of minority-owned businesses as prime supplier, second tier supplier, or as part of a joint venture or any other relationship. Standards of Identity: All products must conform to U.S. minimum standards of identity as authorized by the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and the supporting regulations in 21 CFR. Failure to comply places the contractor in violation of the agreement with the school district as well as Federal Law. Delivery: The successful bidder shall make all deliveries between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. with a minimum of two (2) deliveries per week to each school as per the attached list. The Kitchen Manager or designated representative will place orders and must be on the premises to verify and sign the delivery tickets. Keys will not be made available for deliveries. • Milk must be available for breakfast and lunch at all schools. • All milk shall be between 35° F and 40° F upon delivery. The milk must be placed in the refrigerated coolers, boxes, cabinets, etc., on a first in first out basis at each school by the successful bidder. Only pure pack cartons with gable top will be accepted for all one half pints. The successful bidder must furnish a statement that the cartons are sanitary, safe and suitable for use as containers for milk and milk products and do not contain any chemical substances that would be harmful to the health of children. Quantities: The quantities given are the approximate amounts expected to be ordered by BPS during the 2023 - 2024 school year bid period. Inclusion of an item on the bid form does not necessarily constitute an offer to buy nor does it obligate BPS to purchase any quantity of the product. It is hereby agreed and understood that the District has the right to increase/reduce the quantities ordered in conjunction with this request based on budgetary restriction, the receipt of government commodities, or unanticipated usage. However, BPS will only purchase the quantity actually needed.
