Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Review report of educator misconduct or human resource claim and any supporting materials received by RIDE to develop a plan for investigation. 2. Conduct highly skilled investigative assignments, interview complainants and witnesses, 3. Work collaboratively with law enforcement, department leadership, the Attorney General and members of the Attorney General’s office, County Attorneys, and other partners. Coordinate with agencies at the local, state and federal levels as appropriate. 4. Maintain proficiency in criminal investigation techniques and current case law so that duties and responsibilities are performed in an effective legal manner. 5. Control, monitor, and communicate investigative operations, progress and reporting to Department Leadership, making recommendations for the effective allocation of agency resources. 6. Produce a report summarizing facts and information found. Provide full report and all documentation to RIDE. 7. Read and interpret legal documents; demonstrate communication skills to support the prosecution of cases before the Commissioner of Education and other formal settings. 8. Maintain an accurate, confidential secure file management system.
