Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project will consist of reconstructing E Century Avenue between Centennial Road and Kost Dr and the construction of E Century Avenue from Kost Dr to 52nd Street NE and 52nd Street NE from E Century Avenue to Gold Drive. The project will include capacity and safety improvements for vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian modes of traffic. It is anticipated East Century Avenue will be a five-lane concrete curb and gutter roadway from east of Yorktown Drive to 1000’ east of Kost Dr and transition to a two-lane asphalt ditch section roadway to the intersection of 52nd Street NE and continuing as 52nd Street NE to Gold Dr. Lighting, storm sewer and pedestrian facilities are anticipated within the concrete section but are not anticipated to be continued into the asphalt ditch section portion of the project. A 100’ minimum right of way for E Century Avenue has been dedicated through portions of the project area as part of the platting of the adjacent properties. Right of way will need to be acquired for E Century Avenue and 52nd Street NE for all areas within Section 19 T139N R79W outside of statutory section line roadway easements. Sanitary sewer easements and facilities are in place establishing the likely future alignment of E Century Avenue and water main easements and facilities are in place within 52nd Street NE from Gold Dr to Hitchcock Dr establishing the likely future alignment of 52nd Street NE. Preliminary discussions have occurred with the landowner but no agreement regarding alignments, right-of-way widths or compensation is in place. Considerations for 52nd Street NE alignment should include provisions for a future gradeseparated crossing of I-94. The consultant should approach this portion of the project using high-level engineering and available LIDAR data to determine the optimum location and elevation of a 52nd Street NE I-94 crossing to inform the decision on the alignment of 52nd Street NE and its intersection with E Century Avenue.
