Specifications include, but are not limited to: General Conditions: o Supervise and expedite the construction process to minimize the amount of time in which the space will be unusable. o Apply for building permits and scheduling of inspections. o Disposal of construction refuse. o Protection of adjacent areas and overall cleanliness of the worksite. This includes a final cleaning and walkthrough with the Project Manager for the Police Department. Demolition and Cutting: o Prepare walls for new doorways for access to the Squad Room and adjoining areas. o Shorten the existing walls between cells. o Remove cell doors, bunks, and toilet/sink/water fountain. o Removal of current Squad Room/hallway wall and filling in current hallway opening. o Extension of the ceiling area/pattern of the Squad Room to the newly expanded area. o Remove all cabinets in the Squad Room. o Concrete cutting to create suitable entry/opening in masonry wall for expansion of Squad Room. o Relocate entrance door to Sergeant’s Office to inside the Squad Room. HVAC: o Move thermostats into the Squad Room for more efficient distribution of heat and air conditioning. Masonry: o Infill one doorway opening in the hallway of the Temporary Detention Facility. o Patch and repair new masonry openings; provide lintels, as needed. Carpentry: o Install new counter with drawers to create additional workstations. o Re-install existing upper cabinets and additional cabinetry, as needed. Finishes: o Flooring in affected areas to match current flooring. o Provide new baseboard along walls in renovated areas. o Priming and painting on all walls in construction areas. o Framing of a built-in shelf area to house a television. Electrical: o Surface mounted outlets and lighting. o Moving and addition of network cabling, as needed
