Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1 All work shall be completed per SUDAS specifications and City of Cedar Rapids Engineering and Water Department Specifications when they replace SUDAS specifications. 2.2 Contractor shall be responsible for all applications, permits and inspections needed to complete the project as described below. 2.2.1 Contractor shall call Iowa One Call 48-hours in advance of any work to be done on the project. 2.2.2 Contactor shall avoid all existing utilities and structures, damage to any existing utilities and structures shall be repaired by the contractor at the contractor’s expense to the satisfaction of the owner of the utility. 2.3 The water service to be replaced crosses 16th Avenue SE to a manhole on the South side of the street. The existing manhole contains the valve and tap into the existing City water main. 2.3.1 The existing manhole where the service connects to the main shall remain undisturbed as well as the existing tap. 2.3.2 Contractor shall sawcut existing street, excavate and remove the existing damaged water service from the existing tap and corp stop to the existing manhole on the north side of the street adjacent to Sinclair park. 2.3.3 Contractor shall replace the existing service with a new 2-inch copper service line connecting the new service line to the existing valve in the manhole. The new service shall cross the street and connect to the existing service line into the park at the manhole adjacent to the park on the north side of 16th Avenue SE. 2.3.4 Contractor shall bed the pipe in the trench and backfill the trench to the bottom of the existing street pavement per City specifications. 2.3.5 Contractor shall pour back the street surface and curb with 6-inches of PC Concrete on an 8-inch sub-base of compacted 1-inch class A roadstone to match the existing street elevations. PC Concrete shall be a 4,000 lb mix with fibers added per manufacturer’s specifications. 2.4 All disturbed concrete sidewalk panels shall be removed and replaced with 4-inches of PC Concrete, the same as the street only sidewalk shall be placed on compacted sub-grade. 2.4.1 All sidewalk shall be poured to meet 2010 ADA specifications not to exceed a 1.5% cross slope or a 4.5% running slope. Walk will be checked for compliance with a 2’ digital level. Failure to meet slope will cause sidewalk to be replaced at the contractor’s expense until it meets the specifications above. 2.5 Contractor shall submit a traffic control plan to the City and obtain a permit to work within City R.O.W. Contractor shall be responsible for all traffic control needed to complete the work as specified. 2.6 Contractor shall finish grade all disturbed soil areas and remove all rocks and debris. Owner will be responsible for seeding of disturbed areas.
