Specifications include, but are not limited to: Six thousand, three hundred (6,300) cubic yards of sand. Sand shall be natural or manufactured sand, also known as concrete sand, as specified in ASTM C 33 and as shown below, and shall be clean and free from roots and other organic matter, trash or debris. In addition, the sand shall not contain minerals which may be potentially staining, e.g. iron, clay. The sand shall be white, pale, tan or light gray in color and shall match one or more of the colors classified by the Munsell® soil color chart as 2.5Y 8/1, 2.5Y 8/2, 2.5Y 8/3, 2.5Y 7.1, 2.5Y 7.2, 2.5Y 7.3, 5Y 8/1, 5Y 8/2, 5Y 8/3, 5Y 7.1, 5Y 7.2 and/or 5Y 7.3. Gradation test reports shall be submitted prior to delivery of sand to the project site.
