Specifications include, but are not limited to: The North Dakota Department of Health is requesting bids for snow removal at 2635, 2637, 2639 and 2641 East Main Avenue in Bismarck, ND. Automatic snow removal for the parking lots and driveways is required after 2” of snowfall and after 1” for sidewalks and entrance doors as per the National Weather Service in Bismarck, ND. Removal may also be requested by a phone call if conditions are bad during the day. Due to the nature of services provided by these locations, snow removal will also be required during weekends. • Parking lots, driveways, sidewalks and entrance doors must be cleared by 8:00 am CT Sunday through Saturday. • The snow should be removed from the areas in the order listed below. • Snow removal in the courtyard area of building 2635 must be done during the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm CT Monday through Friday. 2635 E Main Ave - West Parking Lot In addition to the parking lot, this area includes: • 2 garage driveways: one on the west side of building and one across the parking lot in front of the cold storage unit. • 3 entrance doors: one on the west side of the building and 2 across the parking lot in front of the cold storage unit. • 2 sidewalk areas: one along the west side of the building and one running along the front of the cold storage building across the parking lot. All snow will be pushed across the street to the south. Absolutely no snow will be piled on the lawn areas surrounding the parking lot due to drainage. 2635, 2637, 2639 and 2641 E Main Ave – Joint Parking Lot This area is the parking lot in the center of all 4 buildings. In addition to the parking lot, this area includes: • 2 garage driveway located on the east side of 2637 and the west side of 2641 • 7 entrance doors; one on the east side of 2637 by the garage door, the main entrance on the south side of 2637, the main entrance on the east side of 2635, the employee entrance also on the east side of 2635, the main entrance on the west side of 2639 and the main entrance on the west side of 2641 and the entrance by the garage door on the west side of 2641. This also includes the north and south safety exits and north mechanical room exit at 2641 with a minimum requirement of 48” wide. • All sidewalks running along the front and sides of all 4 buildings. • The entrances on the north off of Main Ave and the south off of the Penitentiary road along with all parking spots including the “nose-in” spots along the front of 2635 and 2639. All snow will be pushed across the street to the south. Absolutely no snow will be piled on the lawn areas surrounding the parking lot due to drainage. Additional areas to deposit snow may be available upon approval of the Chemistry Lab Division Director, Jim Quarnstrom. 2637 and 2641 E Main Ave – Southeast Parking Lot In addition to the parking lot, this area includes: • One driveway on the east side of 2637. • 2 entrance doors; 1 on the east side of 2637 and 1 on the south side of 2641. • All sidewalks connecting these doors and out to the southeast parking lot. • The snow from the southeast parking lot can be pushed toward the ditch to the south; however there is a drainage culvert that provides drainage for the building to the southeast of the parking lot and it cannot be buried in snow. There will be orange poles marking the perimeter of that area.
