Specifications include, but are not limited to: Professional armorers (gunsmiths) qualified and experienced in the repair and maintenance of firearms to provide services to APD. 2.1 Contractor will repair, rebuild, inspect, modify (if necessary), and perform factory recommended service to APD owned firearms and certain firearms owned by cadets and APD officers that are utilized for law enforcement duties. The City shall provide all parts necessary to complete repairs. 2.2 Contractor shall repair, rebuild, inspect, maintain weapons, and assist with weapons maintenance education for APD and its law enforcement personnel. Weapons maintenance education shall include, but is not limited to, weapon disassembly and reassembly, proper cleaning procedures, and proper care of the weapon. 2.3 The estimated number of handguns the Contractor is required to service for APD is estimated at 4,000 – 4,500, of which approximately 50% are Department owned, with a potential 6000 handguns maximum.
