Specifications include, but are not limited to: ABSORPTION CHILLER OVERHAUL SERVICES. The following is a summary of services that will be required by a Contractor to complete an absorption chiller overhaul. 1. Break the unit vacuum. 2. Remove the lithium bromide solution and refrigerant from the machine and store it in appropriate containers to allow the solution to settle. 3. Remove the motors from the housings. 4. Perform a megohmeter test of pump motor windings and record results. 5. Disassemble the pump and inspect all running components including impellers, shaft, bearings, and main bearings. 6. Inspect the partition between the refrigerant and lithium bromide pump impellers. 7. Replace all shaft seals. 8. Inspect thrust and main bearings in the pump motor. Replace, if necessary – cost included in non-covered replacement parts below. 9. Replace gaskets and hermetic valve diaphragms. 10. Change absorber sight glass. 11. Re-pipe motor cooling circuit, if necessary. 12. Reassemble pump and motor. 13. Clean magnetic strainer in pump motor cooling circuit and replace gasket. 14. Pressurize the unit and conduct standing pressure test: 24 hours minimum. 15. Evacuate the machine and recharge lithium bromide through a filter to remove suspended contaminants, if any. 16. Replace the filter cartridge and o-ring. 17. Complete purge system service including dismantling, clean up and reassembly with new gaskets. 18. Check purge compressor belt tension and motor alignment. 19. Lubricate motor bearings with non-detergent oil. 20. Check efficiency of purge system using mercury manometer. 21. Check motor seals for vacuum tightness. 22. Inspect all pneumatic lines for connection tightness, support and wear points. Replace pneumatic tubing inside control panel, if necessary. 23. Provide spring start-up, plus one operating inspection in June to trim the machine and adjust solution flows for maximum efficiency. 24. Warrant all overhaul labor and materials for a period of one year from the date of start-up.
