Specifications include, but are not limited to: the production and delivery of 30 and 35 foot Medium-Duty advanced styling transit buses and 35 and 40 foot Heavy-Duty advanced styling transit buses. The Medium-Duty advanced styling buses shall have a minimum expected life of ten (10) years or 350,000 miles, whichever comes first and the Heavy-Duty advanced styling buses shall have a minimum expected life of twelve (12) years or 500,000 miles, whichever comes first. The buses are intended for the widest possible spectrum of passengers, including children, adults, elderly, and people with disabilities. The buses shall conform to all applicable ADA regulations. The buses shall provide maximum passenger appeal in appearance, comfort, and safety; combined with excellence in operating characteristics, economy of operation, optimum seating and conformity with local, state, and Federal bus regulations and emission standards. The buses shall incorporate a high level of subsystem integration coordinated with central diagnostic functions and single point Operator interface. Cities Area Transit and Consortia are interested in a progressive, state of the art design to be reflected in the interior (passenger and driver amenities) and exterior design of the bus. The vehicle exterior shall appear progressive and modern, exhibiting the styling and attributes based on advanced styling design. It is issued on behalf of Cities Area Transit and Consortia of transit agencies. The successful Proposer (contractor) will furnish Cities Area Transit an initial order of a minimum of four (4) and a maximum of ten (10) medium-duty and/or heavy-duty transit buses in accordance with the delivery schedule set forth in Section 2.7 “Delivery/Time Performance”, with the final quantity of each size bus to be determined at the time of contract with the successful Proposer, the successful proposer (Contractor) will also furnish Consortia Members a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 170 buses within the contract term in accordance with specifications as contained in the Technical Specifications.
